Psalm 124: 6-8 King James Version (KJV)
Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth. Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped. Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
Certain events in the last three months have revealed to me the lengths to which people can go in order to inflict misery upon their fellow human being. Sadly, it is becoming increasingly common to experience evil at the hands of those to whom we refer as “close”.
In life, there are times when we come under attack in the spirit realm. What’s more painful, is that the source of the problems we face is sometimes those we least expect. In those times, God expects us do something about it.
It is the duty of every Christian to identify their enemy and to identify their help.
Identify Your Enemy: The Spirit of God often exposes the wolves in our lives posing as friends. Some believers, because of sentiment, ignore such warnings and reap the consequences.
Identify Your Help: The need to “trust in the Lord with all your heart” couldn’t be more pertinent in this present generation.
Your walk with God has developed you spiritually and equipped you with the spiritual capabilities that you need for victory – so use them! Engaging in spiritual warfare in the face of challenges is the way in which God expects you to trust him. If you want a life of destiny determined by God (rather than a life dictated by the plans of your enemy), you must engage the power of God in the face of adversity.
In short, paraphrasing 2 Corinthians 10:4, we don’t fight our battles with the weapons of this world. Instead, we use God’s power that can destroy fortresses.
